FMCS for Household Electrical Appliances

FMCS means Foreign Manufacturers Certification Scheme. Established in the year 2000, It is a license granted by the BIS (Bureau Of Indian Standards) authorities to the foreign manufacturers willing to trade in India who have their manufacturing units located outside the country. FMCS ensures that all manufacturers conform to the standards set by BIS. FMCS certification allows manufacturers to use ISI Mark on their product.
Manufacturers dealing with household electrical appliances require FMCS Certification for further trading in India. Household electrical appliances should be of high quality, risk-free and safe for the consumers.
BIS FMCS certification is mandatory for electrical appliances such as refrigerators, Microwave Ovens, Air Conditioners, toasters etc. FMCS certification gives household appliances manufacturers an opportunity to earn the trust of customers and global recognition.
NOTE: All items except Electronics and Information Technology items are not included for FMCS Certification. According to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, all such items will be included under the Compulsory Registration Scheme of BIS.
